On Sunday, 100 attendees gathered at the Gravesend restaurant Lights of Baku for the Aelita Club’s first-ever reception to support the organization’s cultural and social activities. The Bensonhurst-based organization was founded more than two years ago by Leonora Bulychova, an immigrant from Belarus, whose objective was to offer immigrants, seniors and younger residents the opportunity to form new friendships. She named the club after her late mother and decided to promote all of its activities free of charge for the general public. Read article >>

It was great today to join attendees of the great reception for a charitable organization - Aelita Club (Director - Leonora Bulychova) @ the Lights of Baku Restaurant in Gravesend.
Assemblyman William Colton, Councilman Mark Treyger, Congressman Daniel Donovan, District Leader Nancy Tong and many community leaders praised Leonora Bulychova & Aelita Club activities. The audience was very impressed by dances of talented children from My Way Development Center (Director - Alyona Badalova), inspiring musical performance by violinist Boris Shapiro, unique fashion show (dress design by Leonora Bulychova) and other amazing entertainment.
Michael Salita donated his popular books about Brighton Beach to Aelita club. Attorney Anna Latkovskaia, famous producer Diana Bagrationi, JCH of Bensonhurst Executive Director Alex Budnitsky, judicial candidates Patria Frias-Colón & Connie Mallafre Melendez, Acting Supreme Court Judge Steven Mostofsky, financial consultant Michael Shafir & many others came to support the mission, cultural and social activities of Aelita Club.
